July 14^th – Tess & Kristen – Summer Reading Series at Café Terra in Eastend, SK
Kick back and relax this summer by joining us every Friday evening throughout July and August for our Summer Reading Series. We have an exciting list of brilliant guest authors, many whom live in the SW and have been, at some point, resident writers of Eastend’s Stegner House. We also have a folklorist and local talented unpublished authors taking part and we are honoured to present the Eastend Write for Your Life group on July 28. The reading series winds up with an open mike night August 25.
There is no charge to attend the readings. Weather permitting, the events will take place outside on our new patio.
Readings begin at 7:30 pm
Music buskers welcome (time is limited)
Wood fired pizza available for purchase 5:15-7:15 pm. Beer and wine, coffee and tea, and cold specialty beverages also for sale.
 
Opening: Tess Ryder
Tess Ryder is a traveler and procrastinator from Eastend, SK. She currently works as a nose-wiper in chief at Alleykatz Daycare. This fall she is starting her first year at McGill University. She enjoys white Russians and being told she is funny.
 
Kristin Catherwood
Kristin is a storyteller, writer and folklorist. Born and raised in the deep south of Saskatchewan on a family farm near Ceylon, Kristin is passionate about the cultural landscape of the rural prairies. Kristin studied Classics and Medieval Studies at the University of Regina before earning a Master of Arts in Folklore from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
