DESCRIPTION:August 4th   Barb & Diana   Summer Reading Series at Caf  Terra in Eastend\, SK\n\nKick back and relax this summer by joining us every Friday evening throughout July and August for our Summer Reading Series. We have an exciting list of brilliant guest authors\, many whom live in the SW and have been\, at some point\, resident writers of Eastend's Stegner House. We also have a folklorist and local talented unpublished authors taking part and we are honoured to present the Eastend Write for Your Life group on July 28. The reading series winds up with an open mike night August 25.\n\nThere is no charge to attend the readings. Weather permitting\, the events will take place outside on our new patio.\n\nReadings begin at 7:30 pm\n\nMusic buskers welcome (time is limited)\n\nWood fired pizza available for purchase 5:15-7:15 pm. Beer and wine\, coffee and tea\, and cold specialty beverages also for sale.\n\n \n\nOpening: Barb Le Sergent Wagner\n\n'Barb is a beautiful\, talented\, hard-working lady with a great way with words  ' Barb not only writes about everyday incidences with humour\, but weaves it together with revelations of self  in a raw and honest style that gives her readers permission to laugh at their own vulnerabilities. She lives in Shaunavon\, SK\n\n \n\nDiana Svennes-Smith\n\nDiana was born in Canada and attended the Iowa Writers' Workshop as a teaching-writing fellow before joining the PhD in Creative & Critical Writing at UEA\, where she is supervised by Giles Foden. Her fiction has previously appeared in New Zealand in 'Turbine' and in Canada in 'The Fiddlehead. 'Leaving Her' is one of twelve winning stories from the 2013 Asham award for women writers and is included in the latest Asham anthology\, 'Once Upon A Time There Was A Traveller'\, edited by Kate Pullinger and published by Virago this week.\n\nDiana's first novel\, 'The End of Steel'\, is currently at the publisher's
